5)         Request of the Office of the Governor for a special entrance rate under Civil Service Rule 6.5(b) for pay grades WS 201, 202, 203; AS 601, 602; SS 401; MS 501 and 502 for all jobs statewide, effective August 14, 2006.  After receiving COMMENTS from Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, representative Willie Hunter, Jr., Senator Charles D. Jones, Representative Elcie J. Guillory, Representative Michael Jackson, and Senator Butch Gautreaux, THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

6)         Request of the Department of State Civil Service to designate the Port Facility Maintenance Specialist 1 job title as non-competitive in accordance with Civil Service Rule 7.20(a).  (Appearance by Rainette Stephens, Chief of Staffing.)  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

7)         Request of the Department of State Civil Service to designate the Residential Advisor 3 job title as shortage in accordance with Civil Service Rule 7.20(d).  (Appearance by Rainette Stephens, Chief of Staffing.)  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

8)         Request of the Housing Authority of Simmesport to establish a Rewards and Recognition Policy in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16.1, effective May 12, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Housing Authority of Simmesport.) THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

9)         Request of the Capital Area Human Services District to revise their optional pay adjustment policy in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, effective July 19, 2006.  (Appearance by a representative of the Capital Area Human Services District.)  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

10)       Consideration of the following requests for individual pay adjustments in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16(c), as follows:

 

a)         Department of Public Safety and Corrections – for an individual pay adjustment in the amount or $379.20 biweekly for Mr. Jeffrey Traylor, Audit Manager, effective April 25, 2006. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

b)         Division of Administration – for an individual pay adjustment in the amount or $420.40 biweekly for Ms. Denise Brumfield, Administrative Coordinator 3, effective July 3, 2006.  AFTER COMMENTS FROM JERRY JONES, DIRECTOR OF FACILITY PLANNING AND CONTROL IN THE DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION, THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

11)       Consideration of the following requests for optional pay adjustments in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.16.2, as follows:

 

a.         Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana – for temporary optional pay adjustment of 5% for A. Stuart Cagle, Audit Director 2, for duties performed June 19, 2006 through July 7, 2006.  THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

b.         Department of Health and Hospitals – for a temporary optional pay adjustment in the amount of 5% (representing a $154.40 biweekly pay adjustment) for Edward Holmberg, Accountant Manager 4, effective July 1, 2006 though June 30, 2007. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2006 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2007 OR THE DATE THE DUTIES ARE REMOVED, WHICHEVER IS SOONER.

 

c.         East Jefferson Levee District – for an optional pay adjustment of 10% for Shannon West, Accounting Technician, effective July 19, 2006. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST, EFFECTIVE JULY 19, 2006 THROUGH JULY 18, 2007 OR THE DATE THE DUTIES ARE REMOVED, WHICHEVER IS SOONER.

 

d.         Division of Administration – for a temporary optional pay adjustment of 10% for Karen Puckett, Training and Development Program Staff Manager 1, effective from June 19, 2006 to June 17, 2007. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.

 

e.         Office of State Examiner – for a permanent optional pay adjustment of 10% for Debra C. Bourque, Administrative Assistant 5, effective July 19, 2006. THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE REQUEST.
